Ann and Gabbie yum, yum Biscotti and Pizzelles for a Birthday Basket Hello Hello! We have been busy baking!-- A GOOD thing! I want to THANK everyone who has ordered from us and inquired about our wonderful little Business! Besides trying to beat the Summer Heat, the Assistant and I are busy in the kitchen, which we love!. We also did a chocolate cake with home made chocolate butter cream icing for the family. I swear once you start making your OWN frosting you will not ever use the canned stuff again! Gab's and I have birthday's this Month also! Mine is July 24th and her's is July 27th. I am much more excited for hers then mine, lol. I believe in celebrating our accomplishments as much as our failures... Here's one that didn't work out too well :p Everything I do with Nutella seems to fail. I look at this as "Challenge Accepted!!" I'll keep trying til we get something to work! I love Nutella! I will say I love doing Baskets -- You order what you want in it and If you give me Creative freedom I really enjoy it! We just finished a birthday BAsket which was so much fun to do! Our client that ordered Loved it as did the Special LAdy receiving it! Great challenge as our birthday person was not a fan of Anise- so we did Lemon, Orange creme, banana Creme Pizzelles.. We did Biscotti in Chocolate chip, our Favored Raspberry Pecan also. We also have had Several Pizzelle orders which is excellent and thank you! I am still working on several new flavors to bring to you! Thinking about Fall and Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, Butter Rum, Butternut Vanilla..... Any suggestions are ALWAYS welcome! Gabbie & Ann Well good Morning!!! A very soggy weekend in Central Florida! But that's ok... It means we cook and bake :) This weekend we made home made Fig Bars.. So much work!!!!! Reducing the figs to a syrupy substance :) They are ok, not sweet enough for my taste! The picture to your left was Yesterday's Dinner :) everyone knows a REAL Italian has some kind of Pasta on Sunday.. We start the gravy at like 9am LOL!-- ahhhh Tradition. This Lasagna also has home made noodles. I don't know we started doing it that way a few years back and got spoiled at how wonderful the taste was ..I never did like the "no cook" noodles first :( Business is good! I would LOVE to get more established locally! I'd love to see Pizzelles in Pizza Places and Deli's in the area. Which means The assistant and I are going to have to put on our Aprons, get out and pass out samples to the local businesses :) Here's what was on the MENU Friday night.. Known as an Indian Taco, can be found at most Powwows. A taco served on top of Fry Bread.. If you have never had fry Bread, you aren't living!!! This is all FRESH Ingredients down to the home made Salsa from my local Produce Market, Perrine's..yummy!!! Waiting to hit that MAGIC number on FB at 500 we are doing a giveaway..either 2 dozen Pizzelles or an order of Biscotti , wooohooo Have a great week!!! and as Always! Bon Appetito!!! I feel life is always about broadening what you can do :D MY big old Italian heart has been baking since I ..well since I can remember!! Never had worked with buttercream before nor piping I was pretty pleased BUT I was more pleased with the compliments we got! I would definitely do this again LOCALLY (Not shipping cupcakes, LOL) and I want to THANK my assistant, Ms Gabbie who put in 10-11hours in the kitchen this weekend I owe her BIG :D oh and all you cupcake bakers out there-- RESPECT! lol..this was no easy job. I think the only other thing I ever gave a teacher that could compare to a basket of yummy goodness was a bottle of wine (which she loved!!) Good Day Friends and Pizzelle Fans! We are here during the week before Easter as I was looking at some challenging recipes for healthier eating :) I have plenty of baking to do!!! I was so very pleased to have a new client from Orlando, I just LOVE doing the large baskets they are so fun to make! This week in the kitchen is all about traditons! My family hails from Naples, Calbria and a bit of Sicily. This year I think we will do a marinated lamb with a fresh Capresce salad, maybe a home made pasta dish. But for Easter it always about Breakfast in this house- I have called this "Easter Pie" my whole life. Who knew there was the proper name of "Pizza Rustica" Expensive to make as I use the best in cold cuts (cappicola, Proscuitto, Sopressato, Pepperoni) and cheeses I just love Asiago, and fresh mozzerella, Fresh Parmesean and Romano cheeses. This IS the family favorite. The above is entirely my favorite thing about Easter. It is quite expensive to prepare so definitely a treat! I will take photos of other dishes I am making for the holiday and post next week. I do the traditional sweet Anise bread with the colored eggs as well for breakfast.
As a special dessert I do the Traditional Ricotta Cheese Cake with the lemon and orange Zest. IN PIZZELLES NEWS::: Business is going well!! We are experimenting with Flavors for Summer so they are light and crisp the perfect dessert. What could be better then a Birthday Pizzelle gift basket? or an anytime you want to say thank you Pizzelles or Biscotti. Give away on Facebook is coming shortly.
